William Covert
Psychologist - Ph.D.
I have spent my entire adult life learning about the dynamics of life. In addition to studying psychology, I have studied neuroscience, theology, philosophy, and education. I utilize wisdom from all of these disciplines to guide the healing process. I became a psychologist because I firmly believe that a person can overcome the challenges that life places before us if we are given the proper guidance and circumstances. I have a special interest in helping persons who’ve had difficult childhood circumstances, suffered trauma, are experiencing depression or anxiety, have issues with anger, having difficulties with relationships, or find it difficult to sleep. If your faith is an important part of your life, I welcome you to include that in your healing process.
I believe the therapeutic process should be conducted in a patient and gentle manner in an environment that feels trustworthy and safe. Each client will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
I earned my Ph.D. Degree form the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California. I selected Pacifica because of its excellent reputation for training students to become psychotherapists. In addition to my doctorate in psychology, I earned a Master’s degree in Theological Studies, have completed EMDR trauma training, studied Jungian psychology in Zurich, Switzerland and Toronto, Canada. My most recent training is related to the neuroscience of behavior and mindfulness meditation.
I have also worked as a psychologist for the Ohio Department of Corrections and the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Ohio Psychological Association.
