Tom Pittman began his career in Human Services as a Certified Peer Support Specialist working for Recovery Innovations in Jacksonville, NC. While working for two MCO’s in the Transition to Community Living program, Tom obtained his graduate degree in professional counseling and was granted his LPCA certification in March of 2016, Tom is currently operating STW Counseling PLLC. in Wilmington, NC as a fully licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and sees a variety of clients including those with substance use disorder, trauma, PTSD, couples as well as children. As someone in long term recovery, Tom has a special interest in substance use disorder, trauma and PTSD. Tom believes in a person centered approach to counseling and is committed to providing what the clients wants with respect to treatment and treatment modalities. Tom holds an undergraduate degree from High Point University, a substance use disorder certificate from East Carolina University and a graduate degree from Grand Canyon University. Tom and his wife Cathie currently reside Wilmington, NC.
