Clinical Social Worker/Therapist/Hope Propagator -
I am a therapist ‘Out of the Box’ & ADHD Adults, Depressed and Anxious Adventurers, and Trauma Survivors looking for healing internally.
Hello There! My name is Tim, and I am a therapist for Trauma Survivors, ‘Out of the Box” Adults, and Depressed and Anxious adventurers. I also very much enjoy exploring the outdoors and going on adventures. I bring this to our therapy sessions by being curious about who you are and your internal world. You are a good fit for me if you are 1) An ADHD adult looking to work mental health challenges and life’s stuff 2) A Depressed or Anxious Creative having difficult living the story the dreamed of 3) A survivor of a life-threatening event, whose eyes have been opened to a dangerous world and has trouble feeling safe in it.
I provide services through Individual Therapy, Journal Therapy and Written Exposure Therapy.
Individual Therapy we explore your thoughts and emotions through internal dialogue and creative expression. This exploration helps you build self-compassion and how hard your body works for you. The result our collaboration lead to more courage to deal with life’s ups and downs, more compassion for yourself and others, and peace in difficult times.
Journal Therapy can easily be integrated into regular individual sessions, as home-practice* assignments, or we can have sessions solely dedicated to writing and internal exploration. All you need is pen/pencil and paper to uncover what is hidden within yourself. Together you can guide your internal system to healing and freeing itself from the past.
Written Exposure Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that has recently come from the Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense. It is a structured protocol of Five 30 minute writing sessions that are focused on objectively the single traumatic event an individual experienced. These sessions are proven to reduce PTSD symptoms with a significantly decreased drop-out rate and no “homework” outside of therapy. This differs from other forms of trauma therapy, which involve cognitive restructuring around the event and challenges beliefs around the event.
I’d love to talk with you and schedule a consultation to help find healing and build hope in your day. Please reach out and email me so we can get started working together.
*I never liked doing homework or the idea that I have to do something, so I call work outside of therapy home practice, as you are practicing skills outside of sessions.
