You are nervous about trying therapy again. Maybe you’ve had bad experiences with a previous therapist who judged you or didn’t get what you needed. Or maybe it only helped a little bit and not for long enough.
But right now, you feel like you’re drowning and you need help.
On the surface, you look like you have plenty to be grateful for, but gratefulness practices just aren’t enough any more.
People stress you out. Maybe you’re a people pleaser or conflict avoidant. Your self-esteem sucks. You’re depressed and anxious and basic adulting feels much harder than you think it should.
You’ve probably had some bad shit happen. Maybe you’re grieving or have PTSD or Complex PTSD. You might be struggling with chronic illnesses or chronic pain that limit your life. Maybe you’ve been a victim of childhood abuse, domestic violence, or sexual assault.
You want to have better control over your thoughts and emotions. You want to feel loved, cared for, seen, and wanted in your daily life. You want daily life to be easier for you. You want to trust your judgment about yourself and others. You want to feel safe in the world and with other people. You want your life to be fulfilling and fun.
I am a white, mostly hetero, mostly able bodied, middle class, English-speaking, cisgender female. I am child free by choice. I was raised in a super judgy Southern Baptist church, which led me to explore Wicca where I also found that people were judgy. I now have my own spiritual beliefs separate from religious communities. I am child free by choice and am registered as an independent because I am super liberal. I come from an anti-oppression framework and do my best to be conscious and inclusive, but I still get it wrong a lot of the time and continue to work on my privilege.
I have offered telehealth services since I opened my practice in order to be more accessible to folks with mobility issues, transportation limitations, daycare issues, and illnesses. It also helps out working professionals, those who don’t love commuting, and those who feel safer in their own homes. Due to COVID, I am solely telehealth in order to keep my clients healthy and due to my own chronic illnesses that make me high risk.
