Marriage & Family Therapist Intern -
Hello, I’m Tatum. I am a psychotherapy intern, who graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
In addition to psychotherapy, I have been a licensed acupuncturist for the past five years. I became interested in acupuncture as a way to connect beyond the story of what’s going on, and relate to others at a more fundamental level. As my practice unfolded, I found that stories about life can’t be bypassed. We really do need to understand and make sense of what is happening in our lives through story.
I am a lifelong learner who pulls from various lenses that we can use to understand a situation. Some of the lenses that we could use in our work together include: somatics, narrative therapy, transpersonal therapy, astrology, myth, and archetypal thinking. We could also use creative writing, poetry, or art-making as a way to communicate the truth of a situation.
The idea is to shift to healing narratives and perspectives around situations, whenever possible. This includes a nod to neutrality about a situation, and a nod to big picture thinking. I love collaborating with clients to find the truest-feeling perception of a situation, holding the idea that “the truth sets you free.”
