Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist -
To be honest, I never found therapy very helpful before I got involved with the arts as a therapeutic process. It was just too “in my head” to be helpful for me. At the time, I was hanging out in my head all day long already. My whirlwind of thoughts made it too easy to hang on to controlling the process. I needed to get into my whole self. Does this sound familiar? It’s hard to let go enough to get out of our own way. The artistic process has helped me learn (and I’m still learning) to “trust the process” and appreciate my whole self. I feel inspired to help you explore and create your own story of appreciation, or calm, or acceptance… or whatever healing you are seeking.
Working with the arts modalities can help you build self-esteem, reduce stress and anxiety, cope with grief, improve expression/communication, face fears, overcome challenges, and help you grow and heal as a human in this difficult yet wonderful world. No art experience necessary! I’ll be your cheerleader but I’ll also call you out on your patterns that are keeping you from being your best self.
Online sessions give you convenience and privacy. Since you can use a computer or smartphone, you can be in your home, your office or even your car instead of dealing with awkward waiting room experiences or parking.
