Licensed Mental Health Counselor - LMHC
* NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* We spend so much of our lives straddling the past and the future (both of which can really make us miserable, sometimes!), and it’s hard to appreciate what’s right in front of us (or maybe what’s in front of us makes us miserable too). I’m here to walk with you as you make sense of your circumstances and offer you strategies to live with more ease. My goal is to offer a space where you can express yourself, along with the structure to get you moving toward what’s most important to you.
I have a piece of artwork in my office that says “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” (attributed to many). I use an approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which helps you deal with your current reality while taking forward steps. A lot of my clients also struggle with boundaries (in relationships and with family) and self-expression, so I like to weave those aspects into my approach too. The thing is, you already have so much within you–so many strengths–that you may have become blind to, and it is such an honor to discover what they are and put them to use.
My office is located within a church, but you do not have to be a member or affirm any religious belief to receive counseling services from me. I welcome discussions about religion or the exploration of spiritual practices in our work together, but such discussions and practices are not required.
