Sumaiya Matin
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist -
It can feel vulnerable, making shifts in life, and it is not always easy to start or keep going. My approach is to ensure a private, supportive space where you can explore your concerns, and together, we can identify opportunities and strategies for addressing them. I will go at your pace, and offer whatever tool from my toolbox that aligns best with you and meets you where you are at. It’s important to me to consider the whole of you as a human -psyche, heart, soul, cognition, body- as well as the environment you are in. My own personal experience as a first-generation immigrant, Muslim, racialized woman experiencing barriers in the mental health system informs my anti-oppressive and culturally-sensitive approach.
