Sherene Henry

Licensed Mental Health Counselor -

Welcome to Love Light Mental Health Counseling Services, PLLC, where I proudly serve as the Clinical Director. I established this group psychotherapy practice with a heartfelt commitment to providing effective, compassionate, and affordable therapy tailored specifically to the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community. At the core of my mission is the dedication to training BIPOC clinicians to become pillars of support within their own communities.

My educational journey led me to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from St. John’s University and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercy University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, licensed in the states of New York and New Jersey, and certified nationally. With over 15 years of experience as a mental health professional, my career has encompassed a diverse range of settings, allowing me to support vulnerable populations and gain invaluable expertise.

Within my private practice, I specialize in providing individual counseling to adults facing the challenges of everyday life, including anxiety, depression, ADD, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, stress, family conflicts, grief, and more. My tenure at St. Barnabas Hospital’s Behavioral Health System in the Bronx, NYC, involved individual counseling for adults grappling with substance use issues and group counseling for women navigating trauma. My volunteer work with the Westchester Community Opportunity Program in Westchester County, NY, provided me with the opportunity to offer crisis intervention, advocacy, and emotional support to clients reporting sexual assault. Additionally, during my time as a community-based service provider with NYC’s Bridges to Health Program, I worked closely with children in foster care, their families, and school staff to address each child’s mental health needs, minimizing disruptions to their education.

At Love Light, our dedicated therapists share a commitment to delivering highly personalized and compassionate care, tailored to each individual’s unique needs. In our welcoming and supportive environment, we strive to help you achieve personal growth and navigate life’s challenges. We employ evidence-based techniques and mindfulness-based interventions to guide you on your journey toward a fulfilling life while remaining true to yourself.

Clinical Supervision
My extensive background in management and training equips me to lead a group of individuals in school or post-graduate programs, working towards becoming licensed clinicians. If you are seeking supervision, please visit the Join Our Team page on this site.
