Sean Penny
Psychotherapist/Licensed Professional Counselor - MA, LPC
Do you feel anxious, sad, lonely, or isolated? Do you struggle with pain connected to racism, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or one of the many ways we can be made to feel less than or not ourselves? Whatever the reason, your decision to seek out therapy is courageous because it is filled with significant emotional risk. As we build a relationship together, your thoughts, feelings, experiences, fears, and fantasies will be heard and treated with respect, curiosity, and care. You’ll find a gentle, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where we can better understand what brought you here and how you might move forward.
Our past experiences lay the groundwork for how we relate to the world outside and within us today. Through careful exploration of your experience, we will actively co-create a therapy space that supports emotional growth and understanding, healing from trauma, a greater sense of choice in your relationships, and a more curious and developed sense of self.
I work with adults in individual psychotherapy. My advanced training includes fellowship programs at major psychoanalytic institutes in Washington, DC; and psychodynamic clinical training at the Washington School of Psychiatry. Patient-therapist fit is everything. I encourage you contact me for a free consultation.
