Sarah Wood
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist -
I practice from an inclusive, harm reductionist approach, meaning I am prepared to meet you where you are at, at this present time, and work from there. I believe that the most important element of therapy is the relationship between the client and practitioner.
My personal strengths include building genuine connection, making clients feel at ease, and developing a relationship of trust, non-judgement, and safety to explore challenging issues. I respect and value my clients as being the experts in their own lives and honour their strengths and resiliencies.
In our fast-paced lives it can be easy to become disconnected from what matters. This can lead to becoming stuck in unhealthy cycles of interacting with the world around us. Through our time together we can work to discover the underlying thoughts & emotions that are fueling these interactions, and work to find more beneficial ways of living.
I understand how vulnerable it can be to reach out for help. It requires strength and sacrifice to commit to giving time to work on yourself. I have engaged in therapy myself and know first-hand how daunting it can be to show the best and worst parts of ourselves to a stranger. Together we can ensure this important step is a valuable one for you.
