If you’re reading this, I believe there is a part of you that yearns for some positive change in your life. I also believe that I can help you get there; together. I have over 10 years of experience in community mental health through which I’ve encountered folks from all walks of life and I’m certain of one thing: we all want to feel heard and be seen. Our respective journeys can be full of all kinds of experiences which can often include trauma, stress, grief, anxiety, feelings of depression and cause us to question how to move forward.
Psychotherapy does not root itself in concrete answers, but rather cultivates a space in which we can safely enter and present these woes to another human being. I strive to provide an empathetic, compassionate and non-judgmental approach. I also believe in decolonizing therapy and the way it has long been held to western and paternalistic ideals.
As a child of immigrant parents, I struggled to mesh my two worlds and maintain a happy balance between western and eastern values. With a culturally competent lens and various theoretical approaches, my hope is that we can work together to help you establish meaningful change in your life. In the end, I want everyone to feel like they belong.
Couples Therapy
In my practice, I offer a safe and supportive environment for couples to explore and address their concerns. I recognize that sometimes, the need for a neutral and objective third party becomes essential to facilitate effective communication. Misunderstandings often stem from not assuming the best intentions or simply misinterpreting each other’s perspectives. Together, we work on fostering clearer, empathetic communication, nurturing a space where both partners feel heard and understood.
Moreover, relationships evolve, and the fundamental values that initially brought a couple together might shift over time. Adjusting and realigning these values is a crucial aspect of our work. How do we adapt and grow together as a couple? How can we re-establish common ground and reignite the connection that brought you together in the first place? These are questions we will explore and address, guiding you both toward a more harmonious and fulfilling relationship.
My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based techniques, aiming to empower couples with the tools they need to navigate challenges and rediscover the strength within their relationship.
