Roberta Jackson
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist -
Have you ever felt stuck? As though what happened to you in the past keeps you from moving forward?
Most of us have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, or feeling you’re not good enough at some point in our lives. Unfortunately, it can keep us from setting and meeting goals or keep us in a dark place. This makes it hard to forgive yourself and others for past events. The pain of being silenced, forced to be an adult too soon, or feeling invalidated can make it difficult to open up to others. Sadly many of us had these difficult experiences, though they can make us stronger, it also makes us more critical of ourselves. If you can relate to this I may be able to help you.
There are always opportunities for change with gaining insight and understanding new ways to cope. We cannot change the past but we can learn to view our darker moments differently where they no longer have control of our lives. You can have the opportunity to learn to cope with depression, anxiety, and addiction. Through reframing your thoughts and stepping out of your comfort zone to try new things. Healing is possible when you learn that our difficult experiences do not define who we are.
During sessions, you will laugh, and cry but leave with new tools to try as you learn new ways of thinking. You’ll be provided a safe space and receive insight into living areas and experiences that are troubling you in a more empathetic and goal-oriented manner. I use a humanistic and solution-based approach to therapy. My goal is to provide a safe space where you feel heard and work together to find solutions to your challenges.
