Richelle Johnson
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LCSW
In difficult times, it’s easy to tell ourselves that we “should” be coping better, but we struggle to know how to do that. Change is often painful and confusing, and it can be very helpful to work with a professional who can help us adjust. Perhaps it’s a recent death, a divorce, retirement or even a life-threatening trauma that has pushed you off course. Let’s talk about how I can help. My focus of practice is in shorter-term work to find solutions to current problems, so people can get out of therapy and go live their lives.I have more than a decade of experience in mental health care with all types of people — veterans, civilians, women and men, truck drivers and top executives. I am trained in a number of short-term and trauma-focused treatments including EMDR, prolonged exposure, cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy and mindfulness-based cognitive therapies.Meditation training has been shown to improve depression, anxiety and emotional regulation, and I love teaching people how to use this in their lives. Self-acceptance is a big part of my therapy approach.
