Renee Hopkins
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor -
Obstacles come in all shapes and sizes to everyone regardless of gender, ethnicity, orientation or preference, spiritual affiliation, or socio-economic status. As your therapist, I will work with you to develop skills for overcoming these obstacles but also to develop goals to help be and feel your most confident and success self. Although full name is Chantelle Renee Hopkins, I usually go by Renee. As an independently Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor I implement a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach and I work with a variety of populations from children through the elderly. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups, covering a variety of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, juveniles with justice system involvement, veterans, and the increasing geriatric mental health concerns. Many people think that communication is just talking or telling information; however, effective communication involves much more than just talking. Effective communication is making sure that the sender’s message is heard and understood. With that in mind, I help my clients to develop all areas of their communication skills to not only improve their interaction with others, but also to help them improve their self-confidence and to enrich their overall quality of life. At our initial meeting, I make time to listen to your concerns and then introduce myself and answer any questions you may have and take that first step to develop the trust necessary for the therapy process to be successful. In order for any professional relationship to be successful, I believe the elements of respect, compassion, and agreement on the final outcome must be present and I work hard to provide the environment most suitable for therapeutic growth and success.
