As a clinical therapist and yoga teacher I believe that a holistic approach of listening more deeply to the body and mind is a critical ingredient for lasting change. One of the most powerful results of this work is helping people feel less impacted by their past and a greater capacity to enjoy the present. Aspects of our work together will focus on uncovering core beliefs and identifying the ways in which we struggle and find dissatisfaction in our lives. By becoming more aware of old unhelpful patterns and changing the way we respond, we make way for something new and different to emerge.
Little by little we start to weaken the unhealthy patterns and find they no longer have the pull over us they once did. This is powerful work that helps us awaken and find liberation from deep and complicated pain.
I blend the traditional benefits of therapy including supportive connection, empathy and understanding with experiential techniques, mindfulness and body focused strategies. I am also trained in EMDR, which is an effective treatment for working through difficult traumatic memories, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.
