Rebecca Hartman
Psychotherapist - LCSW, LCAS, CCS
Hello! My name is Rebecca, and I am the owner of Emotivate Counseling, PLLC. I’m so glad that you are checking out my profile. I hope to answer your questions about my practice and my style of therapy.I love to help people! Regardless of your history or the issues you are facing, you deserve a non-judgemental, empathetic and safe environment to explore your deepest hurts and challenges. I am very attentive, and I will listen very closely to what you tell me. I have great compassion for people when they are hurting; healing is a big part of the process. However, getting stuck for too long in hurts, resentments or shame is not healthy, so I will also challenge you to pursue growth, to keep moving towards emotional health, and to make changes in your life that will help you reach your goals. We are a team, and we will work together (as equals) towards a more fulfilling, positive and peaceful future. I do not believe anyone is defined by a list of symptoms or a diagnosis. We are all human and have made mistakes or been hurt in our lives. I will continually express this thought in therapy sessions. In my 15 years of experience as a therapist, I have never met a single individual that didn’t have unique strengths and abilities. It is very hard to see the positives in ourselves and in life when we are struggling. I believe that the key to this is motivation. Our job is to help you to identify your strengths and abilities so that you will stay motivated throughout the therapeutic process. This will not always be easy, and you will have ups and downs. However, as you begin to heal, grow and change you will start to see the life you want to live and your motivation will be strengthened to help you to keep moving forward. My client caseload includes couples, families, individuals and groups. I have extensive training and experience in the following areas:Relationship problems: intimacy, making and keeping healthy relationships, codependency, etc.; Addictions/Abuse: alcohol, food, drugs, electronics etc.; Bariatric surgery candidates or after surgery therapy (time since surgery doesn’t matter); Behavioral issues or problematic patterns; Couples/marital discord: poor communication, repairing deep hurts, infidelity, loss of intimacy and/or connection, etc.; Individuals/families dealing with a loved one that is ill or has an addiction; Loss/grief; Dual Diagnosis; Adult children of alcoholics/substance use/chaotic childhood or childhood abuse; Depression, anxiety, PTSD, overwhelmed, stress, OCDIf you have any other questions, or would like to set up an initial appointment, please feel free to call, text or email me. I look forward to helping you through your struggles.
