Other - Licensed Educational Psychologist
I’m a Licensed Educational Psychologist specializing in assessment and intervention of psychological disorders impacting learning and school performance (e.g. dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, developmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, and emotional disorders). I specialize in psycho-educational assessment focusing on discovering why educational difficulties are occurring and providing intervention recommendations.
Families often come to me to discover why their child may be failing in school, or has lost motivation to do their best, or when homework takes a long time and/or is a battle, or when there is underachievement, behavioral challenges, reading difficulties, etc., to see if there is a learning disability or a social-emotional concern. Additionally, I work with families of toddlers and preschool-aged children to discover if there are developmental challenges or delays, college-aged students who may need assessment to receive accommodations and supports on standardized exams or in class, and gifted children to discover how to best challenge and keep them academically engaged. I also work with adults who want to discover why they may be struggling at work, those who want to go back to school, or those who want to take standardized exams such as the GRE, LSAT, GMAT, etc., and need accommodations on those exams.
As a former teacher and school psychologist, I understand the demands placed on students in the classroom and what supports are effective for promoting academic success. I bring that perspective and expertise to my work which leads to meaningful recommendations regarding research based interventions for the classroom. I also have an extensive knowledge base of educational programs in the local Bay Area and which are appropriate for various needs of students.
