Rachel Freedland
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist -
I moved to Michigan from California, where I directed a medical practice for 33 years, priding myself on long-lasting personal relationships with patients. Outside of her practice, I worked as a mentor and life coach to individuals needing guidance. After being awarded aa Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University I have been employed at the Jewish Family Services of Metropolitan Detroit and Bright Spot Counseling in Farmington Hills. My training and proficiency in multiple approaches to therapy, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamics, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia(CBT-I), gives me the knowledge, freedom and flexibility to address my client’s challenges in an individual manner rather than a “one size fits all” method. My style is both collaborative and empowering. I believe that the intent of therapy is to partner with my clients, enabling them, in a non-judgmental way, to clarify and actualize their dreams and goals, giving voice to their unique, personal character and needs. My specialties include helping individuals struggling with:Insomnia , Relationship Issues and Emotional Effects of Acquired Hearing Loss
