Paul Heiman
Licensed Mental Health Counselor - MA, LMHC
I am a licensed psychotherapist with an office in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. I have a masters in counseling psychology from Regis University in Denver and over 14 years of professional experience. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, LGBTQ and ADHD issues. I work with couples, individuals, and parents and their children.I draw on a number of schools of thinking, including existential, interpersonal, client-centered, cognitive and humanistic. Put simply, I see my job as helping my clients gain access to resources they already have within them – so they can grow into the people they want to be.I have particular experience in ADHD (having lived and effectively coped with it for the better part of my life). I work with children and adults to help them develop techniques to manage their everyday lives, as well as overcome the psychological baggage that living with the condition can create.Although straight, I have a substantial LGBTQ practice. Before going into private practice I was a group facilitator for a gay, bisexual and questioning support group and I started a psychotherapy group for HIV positive men.
