You’ve been shamed for your sensitivity and depth of emotion and treated as the odd one out. Early on, you learned to hide parts of yourself to be accepted, loved, and connected. While on some level, this helps you survive, it also leaves you feeling exhausted, depressed, and anxious. You struggle to achieve things that seem to come easily to others and while you’re trying everything in your power to move forward, you don’t know how to trust yourself or your decisions. You wonder what’s wrong with you?The problem isn’t your sensitive nature; it’s that hiding has kept you from living fully. You don’t have to face it alone. As a first-gen Iranian-American, queer, feminist art therapist, I understand that experience. Together, we’ll use creativity and expression to reclaim the parts of you that were pushed down, blending talk therapy, somatics, and arts.Through creativity, art, and expression, we can reconnect with and invite back those tender parts of you that were cast aside.
