Thank you for taking the time to learn about my practice. I commend your courage in making your wellness a priority. Therapy can be an intimidating undertaking and for people of color navigating multiple cultural identities, there can be additional hesitations about seeking counseling services such as: will I have to explain how my ethnic heritage impacts my life? Will I have to convince my therapist that racism exists? Will I have to hide who I fully am so that my therapist does not feel uncomfortable?
As a person of color, I personally know how all of these questions can impact a person’s mental health and professionally strive to help people find healthier ways of living into their complex stories. Working with clients who want to explore the wholeness of their experience, both those pieces that are empowering and those that are painful, is why I love my job. I approach therapy from a strengths-based, client-centered mindset while intentionally helping clients navigate, challenge and celebrate their unique cultural identities. We will develop practical tools for you to use in your daily life and create a more resilient, healing mindset for you to thrive long after you have ended therapy.
While all people are welcome and cared for, I focus on working with adolescents and adults of color.
