Natacha Alvarez
Bilingual Clinical Psychotherapist - LCAT, CLAT, ATR-BC
I am a bilingual and culturally sensitive licensed psychotherapist, who has treated a range of mental health issues in both Spanish and English. I have been able to acquire a versatile working experience as a practitioner in settings such as mental health clinics, schools, and social agencies. This has given me the platform to provide psychotherapy to children/adolescents, families, and also adults. I specialize in treating such areas as trauma, anxiety and depression. I’m licensed in Connecticut and New York.
I practice using a psychodynamic perspective, but I’m also able to incorporate components from a more cognitive-behavioral modality such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) or DBT (dialectal behavioral therapy). As my early training focused on creative and expressive approaches to enhancing the therapeutic process, I am also able to utilize non-verbal methods (play, expressive, art therapy) in the work especially with teens, children.
In the initial assessment meeting, you and I will discuss ways in which therapy can best address your needs. Together we will work towards creating greater emotional relief.
