You’re ambitious, creative, have goals and skills. Putting them together feels like an ongoing game of Tetris. I see your pride when you find a process that works for you. Then I see your shoulders sag, your eyes dim as you remember you have to translate your process into a world with differing expectations. You remember the extra energy required to explain this and start to feel hopeless, your excitement and momentum slow. I see you ask yourself if this is worth it. I see you despair at the injustice of it; the days go by with a lack of progress and worsening self esteem.
I might be able to help. Living with ADHD and Autism often leads to painful experience in a world that doesn’t celebrate the amazing ways your brain works. As a neurodivergent clinician, I understand being misunderstood. I have training and supervision in Adult ADHD, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, as well as growing expertise in high-masking Autism.
Clients consistently say the most valuable thing in therapy with me is feeling understood, feeling validated and giving voice to what they’ve struggled to communicate. For the first time they feel seen and can develop self compassion to use their strengths to shine and support their areas of weakness.
