Michael Mallory
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist -
My role is to help those who are seeking out their paths and to manage the difficulties that life can present. I was told early on in my education that “life is a series of losses and a therapist’s role is to help folks manage these losses.” Loss does not just include the death of a loved one but it could represent other forms of loss such as identity. I provide support and validation for these losses that may have originally been invalidated by being told “just get over it” or “pull yourself up by the boot straps.”I have experience working with a wide range of populations who are managing various issues. Such issues include: grief and loss, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, and other psychosocial stressors. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ community in providing individual, family, and couples therapy.Life can be a tumultuous journey that can lead down various roads. It’s the more difficult paths that we can have trouble navigating. It’s ok to lose our way but we can always reach out for guidance to find our route again.
