Merry Schoch

Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LCSW

Do you often experience rapid breathing, a pounding heart, sweaty hands, tingling skin, dizziness, headaches, and/or stomach problems? These are a few of the physical symptoms of the mental state of anxiety. Sometimes anxiety and depression go hand-in- hand among those who have experienced traumatic events in their lives, such as acts of war, witnessing or being the subject of crimes, car accidents, natural disasters, or physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. All of these experiences can interfere with enjoying life to its fullest. If you, your teenager, or child is experiencing anxiety, depression, or symptoms due to trauma, you have found the therapist who can help!
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based treatment that promotes positive changes for individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and symptoms of trauma. Strength Based, Positive psychology and hypnosis used in combination with CBT have been shown to be beneficial to help people reach their desired goals.
“Compassionate care” is my motto because a safe and nurturing environment is essential for the process of growth. I also have a unique perspective when working with people with disabilities to strengthen self-esteem and self-empowerment. As such, I am a recognized vendor for the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, as well as for the state of Florida’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP.
The only time we have is the present. We can do nothing about the past and our
future is determined by what we are doing now! You have the power to live a more fulfilling, happier life!
