Melissa Bowman

Marriage & Family Therapist - LMFT

Let me begin by saying: I love what I do!I have had the pleasure of working with clients from five-years-old to 105-years-old! Having the opportunity to work with such an expansive age range has taught me that at any age: we want to be loved and we want to love, we want to belong, we want to have a purpose, we want to experience joy, and we don’t want pain. My goal as a therapist, is to help my clients find ways reduce, restructure, and remove the obstacles that cause pain; while building on our individual resources to promote health, happiness and well-being. My style of therapy is interactive and collaborative in nature, focusing on the individual needs, style and goals of my clients. I use a lot of humor in my practice; finding at times, that laughter is the best medicine! One of my primary interests is in working with older adults through life transitions. Meaning making can be especially challenging as we age. Retirement, changes in physical and mental health, loss of loved ones, isolation, and confronting one’s own mortality become the trials as we grow and make new meanings for our lives and futures. My passion is in helping to ease the transition into the next phase of life and to explore what the future may become. For more information, please visit my website: www.mkbowmanlmft.com or call me for a free 15 minute consultation at: 510-263-8476. I look forward to working with you on creating a healthier, happier you!
