Paola Patel, AMFT
Psychotherapist -
My therapy journey began with my certification in Yoga Therapy C-IAYT and my own healing process in attending therapy personally. I have also been in a place of feeling depleted, unsatisfied, and lost in life.
Experiencing the benefits of mind-body connection through therapy, inspired me to be a part of the collective ripple to personal development.
CLIENTS I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH?
For Couples, I love working with couple dynamics as they grow into their relationships. I also help those with trauma work through relational issues that may be a result of the unresolved trauma through couples counseling.
For my work with Individuals, being a part of the BIPOC community and latine immigrant, I greatly enjoy my work with BIPOC identified women on working on women’s issues and empowerment. I am able to offer sessions in Spanish and English.
I also believe in providing LGBT+ informed and affirmative care. I utilize my trainings to help assist those struggling with anxiety and finding healthy ways to cope with overwhelming emotions.
Top Challenges I Work Best With:
– Women’s Issues
– BIPOC Issues & Biracial/Multicultural Couples
– PTSD &Trauma Recovery
– LGBT+ Care
– Anxiety
How do I help you reach your goals?
Under the supervision of Dr. Gonzalez, I utilize a person-centered, holistic approach to help support you in your transformation to a better whole health.
My holistic approach to therapy encompasses the connection between mind and body. In other words, instead of purely focusing on thoughts and beliefs that brew in the mind, we explore where they also live in the body.
As a bilingual therapist I offer the option of guiding therapy in Spanish. I utilize an integration of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic, and experiential ‘parts’ work, all through a somatic-mindfulness lens. I also offer Brainspotting as a form of processing trauma.
For couples therapy, we begin with ventilating tension by creating a safe environment for communication, understanding, and connection. An Emotion-Focused (EFT), attachment style orientation is the structured utilized as the container for relational growth and resolution.
If you feel ready to experience life differently, perhaps this is your sign!
