Meghan Emma Wilson
Licensed Psychotherapist - LICSW, MSW
I work with individuals around gender and sexuality identity development to help them more fully embrace and embody their true identities.
This can be scary (for all sorts of reasons) and it is absolutely possible.
Maybe you have a sense of what life could be like if you were truly expressing yourself, genuinely, without fear or shame.
Maybe you haven’t even let yourself dream about what that could look like—just yet.
Maybe there are obstacles or barriers in the way and you don’t know how to navigate through them.
This is where I can be of help. Let’s work together so that you can cultivate a life that truly celebrates who you are!
Much of the trauma-informed work that I do with clients focuses on exploring parts of oneself with genuine curiosity, intentionality and deep care. Social identity work is a key component in one’s healing. It is so important to work with someone who can be attuned and present to identity development, struggle, transformation and integration.
I am a mixed-race, queer therapist (she/they) who is currently based in Minneapolis, MN on occupied Dakota and Anishinaabe ancestral lands. My work is intersectional, anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ affirming.
I have extensive training in the field of trauma, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am currently enrolled in a Sex Therapy and Sexuality Education Certificate Program at the University of Michigan.
I have spent the past decade dedicated to the study of mental health, trauma, and the resiliency of individuals. I enjoy working with clients of all identities and have extensive experience working with folks from historically marginalized backgrounds and across the gender spectrum.
