Lorraine LCSW
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LCSW, LMSW
* Focused on assisting people in stress-filled situations to be their strongest selves *
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, adults and their families. I earned my undergraduate Bachelors in Education Family and Community Services degree from the University of Oregon, and my graduate Masters in Social Work degree from Portland State University.
I love to learn and have received extensive training in employment assistance training, autism spectrum, and psychosis. My clinical interests and practice experience include employment and education issues, psychosis, severe and persistent mental health challenges, and life transitions. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to partner with people as they make changes in their lives.
My therapy style is supportive and interactive using a cognitive behavioral framework focusing on how thoughts impact both our emotions and behaviors. In therapy, I focus on assisting clients in developing coping and emotion regulation skills, improved boundaries in relationships, and effective communication skills to build and maintain personal and professional relationships.I believe that recovery from mental health conditions does occur and can be facilitated. I treat clients as “people first,” rather than labels, cases, or subjects. My outcome measures are holistic, meaningful to individuals, and reflect small and large changes over time.
I use TeleHealth HIPAA secure platforms, which uses cloud-based communication technologies, such as HIPAA-compliant video conferencing, secure messaging, and Instant Chat among others.
