Lisa Fulfor

Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LCSW, LMSW

Carl Rogers once saiid , “When a person realizes he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense he is weeping for joy. It is as though he were saying, “Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it’s like to be me.” We all experience times in our lives where we just need to be heard, to be validated, to find some direction. It is my belief that a therapeutic relationship with a genuine therapist who provides an authentic, nonjudgmental, safe environment is the most important factor for growth and positive outcomes.I have worked in various settings involving individuals (adolescents and adults), families, couples, and small groups. Issues of practice include sexual identity, relationship concerns, divorce, blended family adjustments, victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood sexual abuse. I have experience working with diverse populations and all socioeconomic levels. My philosophy towards counseling stems from the idea that each client is unique. I’m an eclectic counselor and tailor therapy based on the client’s world view, issues, and personality. I employ the use of humanistic theories, such as person centered therapy.
I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy to all clients who prefer a non traditional therapy environment. We meet at a local trail or park and I will match your pace. Walk + Talk therapy can help you cope with stress and depression, improve your mood, reduce your tension and anxiety, and improve self-esteem and feelings of well being. On top of all of that, Walk + Talk therapy strengthens the mind-body connection, increases energy and improves sleep.
