Lauren Skillicorn

Licensed Professional Counselor & Art Therapist -

Laurén Skillicorn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Individualized Studies in Psychology and Studio Art from Edinboro University, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College. She has a background in working with trauma survivors, individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and children and adolescents.
Laurén uses a client-centered approach, and utilizes CBT and art therapy in her sessions. Laurén is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and the Flash Technique. EMDR helps the brain digest traumatic experiences, which leads to an increased sense of control over feelings, thoughts, behaviors and sensations.
I am a licensed counselor and art therapist who is passionate about supporting clients on their journey towards meeting their therapeutic goals using strength-based, evidence-based, and creative modalities as stepping stones on the path to healing.
