Kris Jacobsen
Licensed Mental Health Counselor -
Whether you come as an individual or with your partner, counseling with me offers support, perspective, and a safe space to explore some of the fears, beliefs, or missing resources that may be holding you back.My approach is warm, relational, and somatically oriented, with an emphasis on connection, both within ourselves as well as with other humans, our earth, and the universe and spirit “out there”.In working with both individuals and couples, we will look at attachment, family history, relational trauma, and patterns of communication and behavior. We will practice mindfully staying present with ourselves and our experience while simultaneously studying belief patterns, relationship dynamics, and somatic wisdom. My approach blends psychodynamic theory with the practices of Hakomi, Psycho-Physical Therapy, and Re-Creation of the Self. My studies in Somatic Psychology included in-depth study of attachment theory, neurobiology, and the physiological aspects of trauma and traumatic responses.
