LICSW, SMMHS
I’m glad you’re here! I am a social worker by nature and a therapist by trade. Within my work in a variety of social services I found my passion for therapy. I have been working with youth, young adults, and families for 7 years. My areas of focus include LGBTQIAA+ issues, intersectional identities, intimate partner violence, processing trauma, substance use, and managing mood disorders. My practice is sex-positive, identity-affirming, and based in concepts of social justice.
My approach to therapy is goal-oriented, strengths-based, and empowering. This means we’ll keep focus on the things you are doing really well and expanding on them, as well as looking at ways change might be useful. This also means exploring your thoughts on areas for growth and working together to break down barriers and build the skills to reach your goals. I work to meet folks where they are, using a harm-reduction model to create a safe and judgment-free space. I utilize principles of relational-cultural theory, as well as CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, and systems theory.
In my office, all aspects of your identity, and all steps you’ve taken in your journey, will be honored. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
