Kayla Cain
Therapist & Certified Clinical Trauma Professional - LCSW, LCAS, CCTP, CCS, BSP
Welcome! My name is Kayla Cain.
My clients say I’m a welcoming, approachable therapist with the greatest desire to help you heal and feel like yourself again. I know that a trusting therapeutic relationship between us helps to bring more healing than most anything and believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I’m passionate about helping others find an approach that works for them, their body, and their lifestyle to bring about healing. I believe that our brains know how to heal and we just have to show it the way. I am passionate about promoting the strengths in all people and reminding my clients of skills they already possess within themselves! I will never judge & will meet you wherever you are– you shouldn’t feel any shame for where you are in your process of healing. If we can’t feel fully known and accepted by our counselors, where can we be? I offer holistic care and consider you as a whole person: your heart, your mind, your body, and your experience.
As for training, I’m a dually-licensed, experienced therapist in the mental health and addictions field and am trained in trauma informed care, MI, perinatal & postpartum, Brainspotting, Forward-facing trauma therapy and am certified as a CCTP: certified clinical trauma professional. I operate from a healing-centered and trauma-informed approach. I attune to clients to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression, and other behavioral conditions, giving us access to both brain and body processes by bypassing the conscious, neocortical thinking (such as defense mechanisms) to access the deeper, subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain. I would love to support and encourage you to go from feeling “stuck”, to figuring out a sense of purpose and belonging to your community! Humans aren’t designed to stay in a chronic state of stress and over time. These survival states can sneak into your daily life when you’re triggered due to past trauma (emotional flashbacks). Emotional freedom is possible as you make peace with your past by learning to recognize when you’re reacting due to past traumas.
I use an integrative approach to therapy to help encourage clients to achieve their goals for growth and help clients become more aware of their brains and bodies to gain a deeper understanding of their patterns to help them discharge unhealthy patterns from their bodies and brains.
