Katy Shaffer

Psychologist -

Hi! I’m Katy, a licensed psychologist in Maryland. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Is there a difficult relationship in your life? Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, or stress? Do you feel stuck in relationship cycles or unhelpful patterns? Do you want to find meaning, fulfillment, and happiness in your life and to learn to move through difficult times with more ease and mindfulness? I can help you navigate these questions, and many more, in therapy. My clients are curious about their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationships and they’re looking for help to move toward more happiness in their lives. You will find my approach to therapy is interpersonal, person-centered, and multiculturally-oriented (with a healthy dash of humor!). I place importance on understanding your unique cultural identity in therapy, as well as your life experiences and goals. I aim to help you explore, learn, and grow in a relational and affirming space. If you want to find relief from stress, fear, resentment, anger, sadness, numbness, loneliness, sadness, or other challenges, please reach out for a free 15-minute consultation with me.
