The longer your to-do list, the more stressed you get. The more overwhelmed you are, the more you can’t control your thought and emotions. People just do not understand you. They keep telling you, “You just need to FOCUS and you’ll get it done.” But you can’t do it. Life becomes putting out one fire after another. You just want to get away from it all. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Let me teach you skills to decrease your anxiety and have a relationship with your emotions so you don’t act on every intense and impulsive feeling you get. I will provide you organizational strategies and structure so you can get your act together. But these are not enough. By not doing what you were supposed to do, you’ve let people down. I believe we also need to process the guilt and shame that come with this so you can accept and let them go.I believe that difficult challenges are often intertwined with deeper issues.
My multi-treatment evidence-based approach is personalized around you. I specialize in attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Trained in exposure response prevention therapy, a treatment for anxiety, at the University of Pennsylvania, I’ll help you uncover ways to manage stress and anxiety as well as build a relationship with your thoughts and emotions so as not to act on every intense feeling you experience. I also utilize behavior and mindfulness approaches in order to teach you the skills to manage adulting in life.
Using a unique blend of behavior, mind-body, and insight-based therapy, I keep clients accountable, goal-oriented, and offer brief check-ins and coaching. I approach therapy with compassion and humor.
