Jodi Kohut

Pre-Licensed Professional -

When a situation exceeds our ability to cope, we are in the midst of a traumatic stressor. When I tell people that I specialize in trauma, they often think of really big, horrible events, and those ARE devastating. Those big “T” traumas are important to resolve, and I do help clients do that.  I also help clients resolve little “t” traumas- those things that have an impact on the present.  There are things from the past that can come into the present and impact our ability to cope at optimal levels- these adverse experiences can be resolved. I work alongside my clients to identify the sources of emotional pain and discomfort and to bring them into alignment with optimal functioning.I am a licensed resident in counseling under the supervision of Dr. Sherry Todd, PhD, LPC, Director of Doctoral Studies at the University of Cumberlands.  I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and an EMDR clinician.  I work tirelessly alongside my clients using evidence based tools and techniques to find them freedom from suffering, and post traumatic growth.
