Joanne C Ongsitco

Licensed Mental Health Counselor -

You’ve done your research. You’ve tried to “make it work.” You try to put on a smile but it just doesn’t match how you feel inside. Feeling alone and misunderstood hurts. Building relationships with others can be challenging, what more building a relationship with ourselves?
Maybe you grew up being told that there was no place for how you felt, receiving the message to “just get over it” and move on. Maybe something just feels like it’s missing even after everything you’ve accomplished or tried to do.
You’ve done so much hard work yet you feel stuck, like something’s missing, unsure of what comes next. Learning how to live life on life’s terms can be challenging. You might be wondering how therapy can even help.
I get it. I’ve been there too. It hurts to think about change, let alone talk about it, when we don’t know what it looks like or what to expect. That’s what I’m here for. I am not here to judge you. I am here to listen, to join you in your pain, and walk with you through the darkness and storm.
I strongly believe in the power of our sense of belonging and connection to begin our healing. We will work together in developing an integrative and holistic plan, identifying what you’d gain from being in therapy.
My goal is for you to feel heard and understood, to feel a sense of safety and belonging, to recognize you’re not alone, and to challenge you to be able to cultivate practicing acceptance with what I am learning to be life’s “HOW” to which involves rigorous honesty, openness and open-mindedness, and willingness for vulnerability.
