Everyone stuck together at home, yet also feeling isolated from friends and family. Money worries. Graduations and dances missed. Concerns about falling behind academically. Anxiety about the effects, both short- and long term, of COVID-19 and sheltering in place on both kids and adults. In these unprecedented times, it can be hard to be present emotionally for yourself, let alone for your children. And if your child was struggling with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem prior to the shutdown, things may be even more difficult now.
I help children and teens with anxiety and depression, kids who feel like they are never good enough, become comfortable in their own skin. I work with your child to help them find the good within and learn how to tolerate, ride out, and calm their anxious and sad thoughts. I also support you as a parent.
Finding a therapist who is the right fit can be daunting, particularly when our first meetings are via videoconferencing. While technique and approach are important, it is also about comfort and chemistry. I offer a free initial consultation to help us figure out if I am a good match.
