Jennifer Petryschuk
Registered Psychotherapist -
Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Jennifer (she/her), and I am so thankful that you stopped by. Before we go any further, I’d like you to take a moment to check on how your body is feeling. Is there a prickling at the center of your chest, a knot in your stomach, is your jaw clenched or loose? Our bodies tell us so much, but for many reasons, it’s a source of wisdom that we often ignore. After all, trauma is stored in our bodies. It can be downright terrifying to feel sometimes. But healing doesn’t have to be accomplished alone.
I aim to create safety in the therapy room, so that we may explore these feelings together. Healing encompasses both the mind and body and therefore I use techniques that reflect this. While working with our bodies is one passion of mine, another is working through our relationships. People are not islands. I strongly believe that we heal through healthy relationships and so I work to foster a collaborative space for us to explore your goals and improve your well being.
My areas of interest include working with couples, sex and intimacy, broadening communication, healing from trauma and ADHD.
I have completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology and I am a Registered Psychotherapist in the province of Ontario. It can be so curative (but also scary) to embark on this journey. Trust your gut through this process. You’ve already got so much strength to steer you.
