Jamie LaFevers
Psychotherapist -
Greetings! It’s great to have you here!
Look, reaching out for help and starting therapy is a daunting process. If you’re here it means you are searching for someone to help you through a difficult time. No one calls my office or emails me because everything is “perfect.” Typically, my clients are facing major burnout, compassion fatigue, work/career issues, relationship crisis, and a spattering of problems like anxiety, depression, weight gain, and attention and concentration concerns.
The good news is that I have worked with them all – and each one, you included, brings something unique and impressive to the work that I do: You. Therapy is a scientifically proven method to help clients learn effective tools and skills to address their problems in a healthy and permanent way. My work helps clients assess their skills, strengths, experiences and goals and together we work to form a plan that fits what they are looking for. This means that I do not use a template or blanket approach to each client. I listen and understand each of their unique needs and wants, and what style and background they bring to their therapy sessions, and we use that to form a plan that works for them.
I have worked for the past 10 years as a psychotherapist and employee assistance professional. I have helped clients navigate difficult jobs, including termination, promotion and career transition. I have extensive experience working with phobias and OCD, most commonly flying/height and health anxiety. I also work with clients with significant trauma using narrative therapy to help them find their voice and learn how to move forward without becoming dysregulated. I have assisted clients struggling with infertility and loss as well as death and grief. Together, my clients and I have found ways for them to set effective boundaries, recognize toxic and abusive relationships, and learn how to forgive and love themselves.
I’m not going to minimize what therapy is: it’s a lot of work, and it’s wonderful. When you’re ready to get started reach out! I look forward to starting this process with you and figuring out a game plan together.
