“There are times when the world is rearranging itself, and at times like that, the right words can change the world.” – Orson Scott Card, Ender’s Game.
Is your world rearranging itself? Do you need help overcoming the challenges in your life such as stress, identity/purpose, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or relationships? I’m currently accepting individuals, intimate partners/couples, & families experiencing difficult life transitions and challenges including marital issues, couples therapy (for all types of couples), family conflict and individual concerns.I work well with Military/Veteran Couples, caregivers and spouses, and families, in adjusting to life after deployment/military service, caregiving challenges and stress, enhancing intimate relationships, and adjusting to injuries and illnesses associated with military service; anxiety; self-esteem and couples counseling addressing communication, trust, and enhancing intimacy and sexual relationships. I also consider myself to be sex positive and poly friendly.
I take a non-blaming, non-judgemental, collaborative approach, viewing your experience as unique, where you are the expert in your life. I view the problem separate from the client; believing you have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, and abilities to reduce the influence of the problem in your life. In session, you are the driver and I the passenger, on a journey together. I may give suggestions, but ultimately where we go is up to you. Therapy is at your pace and directed by your needs. Hope is at the heart of my approach to therapy.
Personally, I’m a bookworm, huge geek, lover of philosophy, and adore a good pun or “dad-joke” (when I’m not telling them). You will definitely see these sides of me come out in session as I practice and model being an authentic self, both in and out of a therapy session. I look forward to working with each of my clients and consider it an honor to be given the privilege to help you in this way.
