Halley Cianfarini
Licensed Master Social Worker -
Hello! Congratulations on being here and taking steps toward your self-care and well-being. In these times of complex social pressures on us all, therapy can be a place to find support, get to know yourself better, and to explore new perspectives. My style is warm, client centered, and empathic. With my background in the performing arts, I have always been interested in human stories and connecting deeply with others. I believe in the potential for not only individual, but collective healing through this work. A graduate of Hunter College, I approach our work with anti-oppressive, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed values. Techniques draw from Psychodynamic traditions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also bring a wealth of skills in helping you find mind-body self-regulation, developed in ten years of teaching mindful movement. These include breathwork, body awareness practices, and meditation. I am especially interested in the way our emotional lives inhabit our physical bodies, and the interconnection between body and mind. Reach out with any questions, and to get started!
