Gwyn Fallbrooke
Marriage & Family Therapist Intern - MFTI, PCCI
As a queer therapist of color who specializes in working with POC, LGBTQ, and altsex communities, I view psychotherapy as a tool of empowerment. It’s about taking back our lives, identities, and destinies from the forces that tell us they don’t belong to us. Sometimes these forces are outside us; most of the time they’ve also lodged themselves in our brains, in the form of beliefs about what we can’t do, or be, or even want.
To root out these constricting beliefs and replace them with ones that help us grow, I believe we have to think broadly and dig deep. Psychotherapy is great for both. In the process, you’ll get to know yourself better than you ever have—your strengths as well as your limits, your brightest dreams and the fears that hold you back. And you’ll learn how to use this self-knowledge to create a life that works for you.
I practice from a feminist, relational, psychodynamic framework and utilize an anti-oppression lens. I also believe in the importance of a holistic approach and invite all of you into the room: mind, body, spirit, and culture.
I look forward to meeting you.
