Gregory Freed

Clinical Social Worker/Therapist - LCSW (California and Texas)

Talking helps.
Talking and being heard are the first steps in finding your bearings. Therapy is work that you do, that I am there to make easier and more effective by supporting and clarifying, and sometimes just by listening.
I have a career-long focus on working with adults on the problems of living. I have helped people navigate challenges ranging from complicated relationships to difficult family dynamics to ingrained mental habits that are getting in the way. Some days you want to dig into big questions about goals and identity; other days you just need to talk about your day at work. In my private practice, I am particularly committed to working with LGBTQ clients.
My stance is nonjudgmental; I strive always to be curious, empathetic, and, when appropriate, humanely skeptical.
Let’s talk about where to start.
I currently see clients in person in the Pill Hill section of Oakland and via teletherapy.
