Elizabeth Polinsky

Marriage Counselor -

Are you a military member, veteran, or military dependent? I grew up in a military family and am a military spouse—I get the struggle to survive long distances and career changes. As a therapist, I am motivated to help military couples and families find the balance between relationships, kids, careers, and daily life. Smart, capable folks who love one another can get caught in painful relationship patterns that leave them feeling disconnected both emotionally and physically. I can help.

I have lots of research and training to know what works. I’m specifically trained in working with military families, and the impact of trauma—including combat, military sexual trauma, relationship violence, PTSD, etc. I’m also currently working on a Ph.D. in Marriage & Family Therapy. Together, we will explore what works best for you in therapy.

While I don’t take insurance, I do offer military discounts and can help with “out of network” insurance information. Not working directly with insurance allows you to come to therapy even if you don’t have a mental health diagnosis, and we can use our time to discuss what you want to–instead of our discussion being decided by what insurance will pay for. Lastly, not taking insurance allows me to focus more on you, and you will receive faster appointments with a relationship specialist.

I know how much is on the line. This is your life, your partner, your family. I hope you’ll give me a call so you can feel that it genuinely matters to me, too. I know it’s scary to put something so precious into the hands of a total stranger, but I encourage you to take the leap. We’ll be in it together. Not every therapist is a good match and the most important thing is you. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to see what it would be like to work together. My goal is to provide a safe space for your story and to help you achieve healthy relationships and self-worth. I would be honored to be part of your healing process.
