Marriage & Family Therapist -
You tried traditional talk therapy, you worked on changing your way of thinking, changing negative thoughts to positive thoughts, and noticed an improvement, feeling less anxious and free from your past. But after a few months, you are noticing that you are feeling anxious again; past traumatic memories haunting you again. You tried all sorts of alternative approaches only to see minimal improvement. You want to feel better, feel less anxious, and work through your trauma so that you are not living in the past, but living in the present.
I am a Brainspotting therapist, and I provide an alternative approach that focuses on working with the brain and body. The motto for Brainspotting is “Where you Look, Affects How you Feel.” Many of my clients shared that they feel less anxious, less irritable, calmer, and more relaxed after receiving a few Brainspotting session. Brainspotting can address a variety of situations and other psychological concerns.
As a Korean-American, I understand the cultural demands and stressors that come with being born in the Asian culture. Further, I can relate in many ways the struggles of LGBTQ+ individuals who are not able to live their genuine, authentic self due to societal, religious, and cultural values and messages.
Perhaps now is the time to reach out and get the support and healing you need. I will aim to create a warm, affirming, and safe environment for you, where you will feel heard and understood. Let’s work together on rediscovering the true authentic self that you had to hide for so long.
