Eliana Amar
Couple's Therapist - LMFT
I approach counseling from a client-centered perspective. My first goal in therapy is to establish a strong therapeutic alliance, providing a safe place where clients can talk openly and confidentially about their concerns.I work with my clients with a genuine desire to understand and appreciate their unique experience in life.Working for more than 13 years with individuals, couples, families and groups, my work has been shaped by an integrative psychotherapeutic approach.I focus on emotions and how they influence cognition and vice versa. I also focus on behaviors, interaction patterns, family and cultural systems, and the narrative that clients tell themselves about their history, their purposes and their struggles in life. While insight and intuition are very important elements in the healing process, I also believe that interventions must be informed by research and grounded on evidence.
