Hello!
So, this is a small space, and a preliminary occasion, to share a little bit of my voice (in writing), and to say some things about ‘my approach,’ or ‘therapeutic style.’
And so, here it goes…. I find therapy most potent, important, and meaningful when there is a mixture of:
compassion/spaciousness (non-judgment);
curiosity/levity (when appropriate); and
choicefulness.
In this way, I find my work with a wide range of ‘distinctly particular’ clients consistently involving both appreciation (for their past, their challenges, for their contexts of emergence; as well as for their strengths, their multiple intelligences, and their soulful gifts), and creative courage—specifically, where these two intertwine and meet, to set the groundwork, which underlies the choices, meanings, and values that they choose for themselves (often collaboratively, and across many forms of relationship—with others, the world, and this time in a body we conventionally call “life”).
I am eclectic in what approaches I draw upon—toward realizing these goals—and I am also both curious & conscientious about how it is that myself and another (such as a client) meet, collaborate, and interact together. When interacting in-person (or over ‘Telehealth’ / videoconferencing, these days), a lot comes down to the feel of the therapeutic relationship we orchestrate together, and the ‘fit’ this way. In other words, I enjoy working collaboratively to highlight: how to and how it is we might manage—to repair, to create/re-create, and to engage meaningful, helpful, and ‘healthy’ relational prospects (in alignment with what that means to you)—to Find Integration Together.
Finally… Thank you (wherever you are; and, for that matter, whomever you are) for reading this ‘slightest of slices’—of my written voice, that is. Best wishes your way, and bye for now.
